DORIS / ‘DECEMBER’ REVIEW

From Newcastle 5 piece comes the new track 'December (went for too long)'

Smooth vocals bring this track in at the beginning, followed by an explosion of sound hitting you like a brick to the face with a sick post punk drum line carrying a fuzzed out, melodic guitar sound to fill out the spaces in between. This track elevates to a few different levels through its listen, as the vocals become more electric and emotion filled, so do the following instrumentals, with a beautifully spaced buildup and breakdown section allowing for an eclectic crescendo of sounds.

This track hits hard in all the right ways.

gritty guitar riffs a plenty and a strong "head nod" feeling to accompany it. I picked up on influences of shoegaze, post punk & melodic hardcore and i feel that this track would be awesome played at a house party full of mates, or in a packed out band room to set the tone for a whole set. This single gives an insight into Doris and their influences well, and made me think of bands such as violent soho and melodic hardcore legends basement when listening through the song a few times.

We are super excited to see where this band goes and how their sound transforms with them. Keep an eye out for new stuff coming from Doris because we certainly will be.

Chuck them a follow on the gram!

Much love now and always. couchdog 🛋️🐶
